- After installation, close all running browsers and restart one.
- To access the BookmarksHome page, type or paste the following url in
Firefox's or
Mozilla's url field:

- Set your Home Page preference to the above url and/or create a button by filing (i.e. bookmarking) the page in the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder (Firefox) or Personal Toolbar Folder (Mozilla).

Install BookmarksHome 1.2.10
(Right click the above links and choose Save Link (Target) As if you want to download BookmarksHome).

- The BookmarksHome url has changed for Firefox to about:bookmarkshome.

- Custom stylesheets need to be rewritten. Your current stylesheet will be lost after installation.
- Folder preferences need to be set anew.

- The installation will remove the BMHome button.

If you have version 1.0 installed, it is best to first remove it from your system by following the steps in Uninstallation (there's no need to reset your preferences (step 5)). Apologies for the inconvenience.
BookmarksHome does no harm, but you can deinstall it in
Firefox or
Mozilla by:
Mozilla/Netscape
- Go to your personal profile's chrome folder.
- Delete bookmarksHome.jar.
- Carefully remove every line with a reference to BookmarksHome from chrome.rdf, i.e. the lines similar to:

and in overlayinfo/navigator/content/overlays.rdf:

- Type about:config in the browser's url field and reset all preferences (Right click->Reset) that start with bookmarkshome.
- Restart Mozilla.

- Choose Uninstall BookmarksHome in the Tools->Extensions Window.
- Type about:config in the browser's url field and reset all preferences (Right click->Reset) that start with bookmarkshome.
